Robinswood OLA
Bellevue has one official OLA located in Robinswood Park. It is very securely fenced and has a one double gated entry. It is very small: less than 1 acre, so most of the grass has been worn away, but it has well drained soil and a gentle slope that keeps it much less muddy than most OLAs around here. The OLA entrance is adjacent to 148th Ave, so use extreme caution when entering and exiting! Even though there are double gates, I've seen dogs escape. Occasionally there are dog training classes held inside the OLA, but it is not closed to the public at those times. In May of 2007, a water spigot was installed inside the OLA, after POLR met with Park Officials to discuss improvements to the area. The installation features a cement pad and has a drain. A dog bowl is provided. directions: Robinswood is located on 148th Ave SE along the east side of the street between SE 22nd st and SE 2700 Block. From I-90, take the 148th Ave exit. Turn right at the light at SE 24th ST into the parking lot by the log cabin style building. Or, from northern Bellevue, just head south on 148th Ave , and turn left into the parking lot at SE 24th St.

The dog "corral"
Robinswood also has a smaller horse corral that is now used for off-leash dogs. It features a very secure 5 foot fence with single gated entry, and still has grass in reasonably good shape. There are restrooms close by for water. It is located on the eastern edge of the park just south of the tennis center. People use this area for training and for dogs that don't mix well in the regular OLA. It is a good idea to ask about the dogs that are inside before entering. If you plan to do some dog training there, be willing to share the area unless you have officially reserved it through the Parks Department.

Unofficial area near Eastgate Boeing Office Complex
Bellevue dog owners also had created a de facto OLA in the Eastgate area on property that used to belong to the Boeing Company. As private property it was legal to be off leash there as long as Boeing didn’t mind, and actually, Boeing appeared to support our activity there for the past 15 years. This parcel was recently purchased by Bellevue for development into a park. POLR will be working hard to retain a part of it for off-leash usage. Currently only a small portion of this area is even accessible,as the city is allowing Developers to "stage" construction equipment there while they build three 7 story tall office buildings. In exchange, the developer has built a road that will service the future park and the office complex, and has removed an old decommissioned electrical substation.
